Software Licenses

License information for FireSonic Community Edition, the Developer SDK, commercial software, examples, and third-party components.

Effective: September 15, 2026

FireSonic is proprietary software.

Community Edition and the Developer SDK may be available without charge, but they are not open-source software. No FireSonic source-code rights are granted unless a specific repository, file, or separate agreement explicitly says otherwise.

1. How FireSonic licensing works

Each FireSonic software package is provided under an applicable software license. The license delivered with, embedded in, or otherwise identified for a package is the authoritative license for that package.

This page explains the general licensing model and important restrictions. If this page conflicts with a package-specific license or a separately signed commercial agreement, that license or agreement controls.

By installing or using a FireSonic package, you agree to comply with the license that applies to it.

2. FireSonic Community Edition

FireSonic Community Edition is a no-charge edition of the FireSonic integration platform. It is proprietary software and is not distributed under an open-source license.

Community Edition may include technical or edition limits, such as throughput, concurrency, administration, monitoring, reload, backup, or other capability limits. Those limits are part of the edition and may not be bypassed or disabled.

Your permitted installation and use of Community Edition are defined by the Community Edition license supplied for the package.

3. FireSonic Developer SDK

The FireSonic Developer SDK is proprietary software provided for developing, testing, debugging, and maintaining integrations intended for use with FireSonic.

The SDK is not licensed as a general-purpose standalone HL7 → FHIR conversion engine, redistribution library, or runtime for embedding into unrelated products unless FireSonic gives explicit written permission.

SDK features may be limited by license, execution mode, throughput, environment, or other technical controls. The SDK license supplied with the package defines the permitted use.

4. Important restrictions

Unless an applicable license or mandatory law expressly allows otherwise, you may not:

  • copy, redistribute, sublicense, rent, lease, sell, or resell FireSonic software except as expressly permitted;
  • make FireSonic software or SDK components available as a standalone hosted, embedded, or competing product;
  • reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive source code from proprietary FireSonic software, except where such restriction is prohibited by applicable law;
  • remove or alter copyright, trademark, license, or ownership notices;
  • bypass, disable, modify, or interfere with license checks, edition controls, throughput limits, feature restrictions, or other technical protections;
  • use FireSonic software in a way that violates law or third-party rights.

5. Examples, demo integrations, scripts, and helper tools

FireSonic may publish examples, demo integrations, scripts, helper tools, test resources, or other materials in public repositories.

Those materials may have a separate license stated in the repository or file. A separate license applies only to the material identified by it and does not make the FireSonic platform, Community Edition, or Developer SDK open source.

If a public repository does not state a license, no permission should be assumed beyond viewing the publicly available material.

6. Third-party software

FireSonic distributions may include or depend on third-party libraries and components. Those components remain subject to their own copyright notices and license terms.

Where required, applicable third-party notices or license texts should be included with the FireSonic distribution. Third-party licenses do not change the proprietary status of FireSonic software itself.

7. Commercial editions and services

Commercial FireSonic editions, subscriptions, support, or other paid services are governed by the commercial license, order, subscription terms, or other written agreement supplied for them.

Commercial terms may grant additional capabilities or rights and may include different warranty, support, liability, and service provisions.

8. Trademarks

FireSonic, the FireSonic name, logos, and related branding are trademarks or brand assets of FireSonic. Software-license rights do not grant a right to use FireSonic branding except as needed to identify the product in a factual manner.
